As he was walking along the road, he was attacked by robbers. They took all of his possessions, beat him, and left him for dead. He lay there, helpless and alone, until a man came by.
This man was a Samaritan, a foreigner to the land. He saw the man lying on the side of the road and was moved with compassion. He stopped and tended to the man’s wounds, pouring oil and wine on them to help them heal. He then put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn.
At the inn, the Samaritan paid for the man’s stay and told the innkeeper to take care of him. He said he would pay for any additional expenses when he returned. The Samaritan then left, continuing on his journey.
The next day, the Samaritan returned to the inn and paid for the man’s stay. He then gave the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him to use them to pay for the man’s care.
The man was so moved by the Samaritan’s kindness that he thanked him and asked him to stay with him for a while. The Samaritan agreed and stayed with the man until he was fully recovered.
When the man was ready to leave, the Samaritan gave him a blessing and said, “Go in peace.” The man thanked the Samaritan again and went on his way.
The story of the Good Samaritan’s journey is one of compassion and kindness. It teaches us that we should always be willing to help those in need, no matter who they are or where they come from. It also reminds us that we should always be willing to go the extra mile for those we care about.
