Once upon a time, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a tax collector, and he was very wealthy. He was also very short, so he had to climb a tree to get a better view of Jesus when he came to town.
When Jesus arrived, he saw Zacchaeus in the tree and called out to him. He said, “Zacchaeus, come down! I want to stay at your house today.”
Zacchaeus was so excited that Jesus wanted to stay at his house. He quickly climbed down from the tree and welcomed Jesus into his home.
The people in town were not happy that Jesus was staying with Zacchaeus. They said, “This man is a sinner! He shouldn’t be allowed to be with Jesus.”
But Jesus said, “I have come to seek and save the lost.”
Zacchaeus was so moved by Jesus’ words that he decided to change his life. He said, “I will give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone out of anything, I will pay them back four times as much.”
Jesus was pleased with Zacchaeus’ decision and said, “Today, salvation has come to this house.”
The people in town were amazed at what had happened. They had seen Zacchaeus as a sinner, but now they saw him as a changed man.
The moral of this story is that no matter how far we have strayed from God, He is always willing to forgive us and give us a second chance. All we have to do is accept His love and grace and turn away from our sins.
This story of Jesus and Zacchaeus is a reminder to us all that no matter how far we have strayed, God is always willing to forgive us and give us a second chance. We just have to accept His love and grace and turn away from our sins.
